Immaculate Heart’s Basketball program fosters skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship from Middle School through Junior Varsity and Varsity High School levels. Our Middle School team practices and plays on the Immaculate Heart campus, while our High School team practices and competing at the state-of-the-art facilities of Los Angeles City College. Our athletes refine their technique, strategy, and conditioning in a dynamic and supportive environment. Facing top competition across Southern California, these teams showcase dedication, resilience, and Panda pride while building lifelong friendships and celebrating personal growth. Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned player, Basketball at Immaculate Heart offers the opportunity to elevate your skills and embrace the spirit of teamwork.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

JUSTIN MAIDENBERG

Coach Justin Maidenberg is passionate about basketball and has over 11 years of experience in the coaching profession. He has professional background in coaching Men’s Junior College, Women’s Division 1 basketball, and currently works with Middle School girls and High School boys.

MERRITT PAVICHEVICH

While new to formal coaching, “Coach Pav” brings with her a lifetime of experience, having played on school and AAU teams and being named all-conference player while attending San Gabriel High School. After a knee injury derailed her college basketball career, she directed her energies toward attaining a degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University while playing and coaching in church and community tournaments. Having recently joined the IH staff as an English and literature teacher, she has served as assistant coach for the IH Middle School basketball team for the past two years, where she hopes to continue to motivate and inspire young players to develop their skills and reach their goals.

Ashley Padua is dedicated to developing players' skills, confidence, and teamwork. As an alumna and former member of IH basketball, she brings a strong connection to the program. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes fundamentals and a positive team culture, drawing from her experience in community engagement, youth development, and sports management.
